What we collect when you ask to be matched with an adviser, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to get it back or removed.
Vetted Wealth exists to introduce you to a financial adviser. That means we ask you personal questions, and then, with your consent, we pass your answers to one adviser firm. This page explains exactly what happens to that information.
Who we are
Vetted Wealth (“we”, “us”) operates the website at vettedwealth.co.uk from the United Kingdom, and is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller; you can obtain our company registration details, registered office address and ICO registration reference at any time by emailing support@vettedwealth.co.uk.

What we collect
Almost everything we hold about you, you typed into our enquiry form. We do not buy personal data, and we do not scrape it.
Categories of personal data we process
| Category | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Identity & contact | Name, email address, telephone number, postcode | You, via the enquiry form |
| Financial circumstances | Broad ranges for assets, pensions, income, property value, mortgage outstanding, what you hold | You, via the enquiry form |
| Personal circumstances | Age band, employment status, marital status, number of dependants | You, via the enquiry form |
| Your enquiry | The service you need, your goal, timeline, preferences, and anything you write in the free-text box | You, via the enquiry form |
| Consent record | That you ticked the consent box, and the date and time you did | Recorded automatically on submission |
| Technical data | IP address, browser user-agent, the page you submitted from, campaign tags in the link you arrived on | Recorded automatically on submission |
Please do not send us special category data
Our form never asks about your health, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, politics or trade union membership. The free-text box is optional, please keep health details for the adviser, who is regulated to receive them. If you do tell us something sensitive, we will treat it with the same care but we would rather you did not have to.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
Purpose and lawful basis under the UK GDPR
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Match you with a suitable adviser firm and pass them your enquiry | Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given by ticking the box on the form |
| Contact you about that enquiry | Your consent, and our legitimate interests in responding to you |
| Keep a record that consent was given | Our legal obligation to demonstrate compliance, and our legitimate interests |
| Prevent spam and abuse of the form (IP address, timing checks) | Our legitimate interests in keeping the service working |
| Send you optional guides and updates | Your separate, optional consent, the marketing tick box, which is never pre-ticked |
You are never required to consent. If you would rather not have your details passed to an adviser, do not submit the form: you are welcome to read the free guides without giving us anything at all.
Who we share it with
When you consent, we pass your enquiry to one adviser firm, the one we judge to be the right fit. We do not sell your details, we do not distribute them to a panel of firms to bid over, and we do not pass them to anyone else for their own marketing.
That adviser firm becomes an independent data controller for what it does with your information from that point. It will have its own privacy policy, and it is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. If you would like to know which firm before we introduce you, ask us: we will tell you.
- The matched adviser firm (a separate controller, FCA-authorised)
- Our website hosting provider, a reputable UK-based hosting provider, under a written data-processing agreement
- Our email provider, a reputable email service provider, under a written data-processing agreement
- Professional advisers, or a regulator, court or law-enforcement body where we are legally required to disclose
Personal data is stored in the United Kingdom. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations or an International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for 24 months from your last contact with us, after which it is deleted. We keep the record that you gave consent for six years, because we may need to evidence it. If you ask us to erase your data sooner, we will, see below.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- 1
Be told, and to see your data
Ask for a copy of everything we hold about you. We will respond within one month and there is no charge.
- 2
Correct it
If something is wrong or incomplete, tell us and we will fix it.
- 3
Have it erased
Ask us to delete it. We will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
- 4
Withdraw consent
At any time, and as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing consent does not undo an introduction already made, but it stops anything further.
- 5
Restrict or object
Ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved, or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- 6
Portability
Receive the data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these, email support@vettedwealth.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling their helpline. You can also read our complaints procedure.
Cookies, security and changes
We describe the cookies this site sets in our cookie policy. We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and by holding it only for as long as it is useful. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be brought to your attention. Our terms of use explain the limits of what Vetted Wealth does.
The short version

- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your data at any time, and complain to the ICO if we get it wrong.
